Our Process

Our planning process begins with you! Your plan is our organizing foundation.
We all have goals and dreams—retirement, a vacation home, funding college education, gifting . . . They are unique to everyone of us. Our planning approach is designed with this is mind. We take your goals that are most important to you and provide the necessary organization and focus to help you see those dreams become reality.

Our investment approach.
We select a combination of active and passive money managers, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in our portfolios. We use your plan as the guiding framework for the construction and maintenance of your portfolio. We understand the short term volatility of "the markets." This is why we don't try to time the market. Where we allocate assets accounts for more than 90% of investment performance given the risk/reward trade-off. Time in the market, therefore, is more important than timing the market. So with your plan in mind, we create a measurable and diversified allocation that keeps us focused on your long-term goals. Keep in mind, asset allocation programs do not assure profit or protect against a loss in declining markets.

A proven approach to financial planning.
We have successful financial planning down to a science. Literally. It's this logical, measurable approach that has helped us consistently achieve results, reduce risk, and earn client trust, year after year.

Here's how we do it:

1. GREAT QUESTIONS PRODUCE GREAT ANSWERS.
So that's where we begin—by asking the right questions. Our goal is to get an intimate understanding of where you are, where you want to be, and what you want to happen along the way. The information this evaluation yields becomes the mortar in building your financial plan—the better the information you provide, the stronger the bonds holding together our approach.

2. TEAMWORK.
Our big picture approach includes working with your other key advisers, from your CPA and estate attorney to banking and real estate specialists, so we're all in sync and working toward a common goal.

3. CREATE A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
We'll do what we do best and devise a strategic financial plan that incorporates your assets, goals and numerous other variables. It is only at the end of this process that we consider what combination of separate accounts, mutual funds, individual stocks, bonds, variable annuities or life, LTC or disability insurance we utilize in your plan. These investment products are simply a means to an end to assist in helping you pursue your goals. You'll have our best recommendations, know how they will help you pursue your goals, and when you can expect to implement any part of the plan.

4. REVIEW AND RE-BALANCE.
Markets change. Your assets change. Even your goals change. Once your plan is implemented we will require a systematic approach to review your progress toward the pursuit of your goals. We meet with you at least twice a year to review your situation and make adjustments to your financial plan if necessary. As such, there may be times in between these meetings that a life event occurs that will change your plan. During these times, please update us on changes so we can update your plan.

5. COMMUNICATION.
It's at the heart of any successful relationship and we make it a priority. Get in touch with us any time with questions, concerns, or changes that may arise in your life. After all, helping you reach your goals is not a part-time job. We're always looking out for your best interests.
